Climb to Conquer Cancer 2016
Have you heard of the Climb to Conquer Cancer? This is a national charity event run in many cities, including Flagstaff. This event generates charity fundraising as well as awareness for the American Cancer Society, helping them draw closer to finding a cure for cancer.
Cancer is a genetic disease which causes mutation in the cells. It affects millions worldwide. The American Cancer Society (ACS) is a nationwide, community-based voluntary health organization dedicated to eliminating cancer as a major health problem. The Climb to Conquer Cancer is one event used to engage the community and help generate awareness of who the ACS are and what it is that they do.
Flagstaff is one of the hosts of the Climb here in Arizona. Held on Arizona Snowbowl, it is a 7 mile hike with several teams participating. While not a competitive event, each team generates donations which are sent to help the ACS. By joining a team, you will be able to participate in the event. Team members help and encourage each other as they make their way to the top!
Each year, Jim's Total Body Fitness also participates in this event. Come join us and our team as we help do our part in the fight against cancer! Along the way, we stop and do Zumba events and encourage others along the way as well. Cancer isn't something that affects one person, it affects us all. The effort needed is a group effort and we want to see everyone succeed! So come on out, join us in the Climb and let's all do our part to do away with cancer!
The Climb will be held August 20th, 2016 starting at 7am. We will release more details on what our team has in store for this event as time gets closer, so stay tuned, watch for updates here and on our Facebook. We hope to see you there!
